Our national client (who provides Loss Adjusting Quantity Surveying and Building Consultancy services across the insurance sector) is seeking an experienced Building Consultant to join their Newcastle and Central Coast team.
You will utilize your knowledge and skills learnt on the job as a tradie and apply this to inspecting and reporting on building-related matters in accordance with BCA and Australian Standards.
You will assess building projects to provide their clients with detailed building reports on defects and incomplete works related to construction projects.You will also be required to prepare detailed scopes of works to rectify the defects they have identified and accurate estimates for the costs of the works detailed in the scope of works.
Experience in commercial and domestic building practices understanding building regulations codes and standards ability to interpret technical building matters and report on these findings is a must for a candidate to succeed in this role.
In addition to your salary you will also receive car allowance mobile phone and laptop and be eligible for the bonus system.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience;
Construction experience (3 years plus) in the Buildingand Insurance Industry
Professional communication and report writing skills for the Insurance sector
Microsoft Office and computer skills
Be able to inspect and identify defects and non-compliance to the NCC
Experience in reading and interpreting the Australian Standards
General understanding of insurance
Requirements for the role
Reside in the Newcastle or Central Coast region or within 1 hour travel time from the area
Hold a valid drivers license in NSW
Hold a current construction/trade license
