Job Description
Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Lead Network Engineer to oversee the design implementation and maintenance of enterprise-wide network infrastructure. This individual will lead a team of network engineers providing Tier 13 support in a primarily Cisco-based environment while ensuring the network meets required service level uptime through proactive monitoring incident response and system upgrades.
Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of network engineers supporting a secure scalable and highly available network infrastructure
- Deliver Tier 13 network support leveraging manufacturer support contracts as needed
- Monitor and respond to alerts via SolarWinds Orion; log incidents in the Service Desk system
- Oversee lifecycle management of network hardware replacing end-of-life or unsupported equipment
- Ensure on-site coverage during core hours at required facilities
- Provide technical guidance mentorship and strategic direction to the network engineering team
- Comply with and contribute to established system administration procedures
- Collaborate with Customer on recommendations for network performance procedures and security improvements
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and 8 years of experience or a Masters degree and 6 years of experience or High school diploma/equivalent and 12 years of experience
- U.S. Citizenship required; must have an active Secret clearance
- Strong hands-on experience with configuring troubleshooting and supporting Cisco routers switches firewalls and enterprise networking tools such as SolarWinds as well as working knowledge of LAN/WAN VPNs and TCP/IP protocols.
- Certifications:
- Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or higher (e.g. CCNP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- CompTIA Network/CompTIA A
- Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
