Cleveland Clinic Express Care and Urgent Care Clinics are designed to provide patients with quick access to medical care for common health problems. Our Rocky River location is currently looking to add an Ambulatory Float Pool Medical Assistant in Pediatrics to our team. This role utilizes medical and administrative skills to provide support to patients and health care staff under the supervision of a physician or nurse.

A caregiver in this role will work variable hours 8:00AM-8:00PM and will float support the needs of ambulatory locations.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Assists with performing screening and treatments by gathering information related to health maintenance collecting specimens performing tests and documenting patient care.
  • Update health maintenance at patient visits accurately identifies medication changes and updates allergy information at each visit.
  • Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition. Administers specific medications under the direction of the provider.
  • Maintain equipment and medical supplies including reordering stocking cleaning and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain examination areas
  • Assist in pre-visit planning by updating the health maintenance tab.
  • Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned including filing reception scheduling data entry and patient registration.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Must be a graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program. (As designated by the Enterprise MA Steering Committee)
  • Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM) Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Completion of a clinical externship
  • At least one year experience with pediatrics as a Medical Assistant (MA)

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • MA Certification preferred
  • Successful completion of CC Externship preferred
