Position Summary

The Business Operations Manager ensures the Iceplexs day to day activities run smoothly and efficiently overseeing customers service and collaboraging across functions to achieve strategic goals. They will focus on improving processes managing resources and driving business growth through various initiatives.

The Business Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the Berger Foundation Iceplex. Assist General Manager in administrative duties as needed provide building support as necessary as manager on duty.

The Location of the Position: Berger Foundation Iceplex/Acrisure Arena

This posiiton will pay a salary of $70000 to $73000 and is bonus eligible.

This position will remain open until September 12 2025.

About the Venue

The Berger Foundation Iceplex serves as a welcoming year-round refuge for localsand visitors to skate train and have FUN.

The 36000sf Iceplex located adjacent to Acrisure Arena features a 250-spectator seat NHL ice rink four locker rooms two party room areas and a mezzanine for skaters and viewers to enjoy concessions while connecting with friends. A myriad of special events is open to the public includinghockeyandskatingprograms tournaments exhibition ice shows plus themed and charitable activities to include DJ Skate nights Frozen 5k and more.

The Iceplex is the official training center of the Coachella Valley addition todaily publicice skating sessions the Iceplex is home to theCV SK8 Academy Adult and JuniorHockey LeaguesBirthday Parties and more. Opportunities for private ice rental for tournaments broomball corporate nonprofit and other special events are also available.

Responsibilities

  • Managing day-to-day administrative operations and performing various supervisory office support related tasks.
  • Employee oversight customer admissions finance management and reporting event coordination and skate rental.
  • Implement online registration/ POS operation system for ice rink programs and events.
  • Oversight of daily reconciliation of digital transactions.
  • Supervise and schedule part time employees.
  • Responsible for implementing and leading training sessions and meetings for staff.
  • Coordinate logistics and maintain booking of programs/ events documents & calendars.
  • Create weekly task work for scheduled staff.
  • Manage Iceplex concessions (ordering inventory quality control).
  • Prepare and approve bi-weekly payroll for all WC staff.
  • Coordinate and attend special events corporate events and birthday parties
  • Responsible for generating reports under the direction of the General Manager
  • Assist Vice President in administrative duties as needed
    • Provide building support as necessary as manager on duty.

Qualifications

Required Skills/ Experience:

  • BA Degree desired previous work history may substitute for degree
  • Experience with and general functions of an Ice Arena
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles with emphasis in working with and training a casual staff
  • Must be able to work flexible and sometimes demanding schedules: including nights weekends and holidays
  • Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel PowerPoint Audio/Video and information technology.
  • Experience with creating promoting and managing recreational programs
  • Creating and maintaining program calendars and activity schedules/ flyers in house and electronically

Working Conditions:

  • Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends nights and holidays required
  • Frequent bending lifting 15-20 pounds sitting exposure to multiple external elements extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs.
