Youll collaborate closely with developers and contents work with modern tools like Axiom and contribute to a growing network where your builds truly matter

This position starts as an unpaid volunteer role with the potential to develop into a paid contractor position.

Tasks

• Design and build high-quality maps hubs arenas and worlds for various game types and modes
• Use Axiom as your primary creation tool leveraging its advanced building and editing capabilities
• Collaborate with game designers and devs to ensure builds support intended gameplay mechanics and player flow
• Translate layout drafts storyboards or wireframes into fully realized builds with visual polish
• Export and prepare schematics for development pipelines (e.g. proper origin points chunk boundaries annotations)
• Follow best practices for optimization performance and compatibility across Minecraft versions
• Participate in playtests and integrate feedback from QA or gameplay leads
• Maintain build documentation including version notes change logs and block usage references
• Support ongoing map updates revisions and polishing passes as part of a fast-paced release cycle

Requirements

• Strong creative vision and a high-quality portfolio of builds across various styles
• Deep and up-to-date understanding of Minecraft: Java Edition especially building mechanics block behavior and client-side rendering
• Proficiency with professional build tools especially Axiom
• Familiarity with client-side workflows real-time previewing and working with Axioms layered modular toolset
• Ability to translate rough concepts or layouts into immersive gameplay-ready spaces
• Comfortable building environments for PvP survival creative minigames and adventure-style experiences
• Strong sense of layout block variation color use depth and structure with performance and readability in mind
• Experience preparing schematics optimizing builds and structuring content for server integration
• Basic understanding of server-side build pipelines
• Organized approach to file naming version control and iterative feedback
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with developers and contents
• Optional but valuable: experience with collaborative workflows using Axioms multiplayer features
• Expected availability of around 1015 hours per week
