Job Summary:
This role is for a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute care hospital setting. The technician will be responsible for the cleaning sterilization and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment. The position requires on-call availability floating to different areas and a minimum of two years of experience.
Location: Apple Valley California United States.
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning disinfecting and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment using various methods (e.g. autoclaves ultrasonic cleaners).
- Preparing instruments and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Maintaining inventory of sterile supplies.
- Inspecting and maintaining equipment.
- Following established sterilization protocols and procedures.
- Adhering to infection control guidelines.
- Documenting all procedures and activities.
- Collaborating with surgical staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Responding to on-call requests.
- Floating to different areas within the department as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.
- Current BLS certification.
- CBSPD or HSPA certification.
- Experience with various sterilization equipment (e.g. Getinge Autoclave Amsco Autoclave Steris V-Pro Steris System 1e Getinge 86 series washer Triton 72 ultrasonic cleaner Da Vinci Xi).

Special Considerations:
- On-call responsibilities are required including weekday evenings and weekends. On-call is split fairly within the department.

- Return to office (RTO) is required.

- Shift times vary: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM.
- Weekday on-call: 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
- Weekend shifts: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM.
- Weekend on-call: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (24-hour call).
- Shift assignments are determined by the department.
