Job Summary:
This role is for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a long-term care facility. The CNA will provide direct patient care assist with activities of daily living and collaborate with the nursing team. Prior travel and long-term care experience are required. A valid CNA license in Alaska is preferred; however a license from another state and proof of CNA training are acceptable with the requirement to obtain an Alaska license within 72 hours of contract signing.

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing dressing toileting and ambulation.
- Obtain and record vital signs weights and other patient data.
- Collect and process specimens (urine stool sputum).
- Assist with feeding and meal delivery.
- Perform basic nursing procedures as delegated by a registered nurse (e.g. incentive spirometry pulse oximetry blood sugar checks).
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Communicate patient status and report changes to the nursing team.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phones and documenting patient care.
- Assist in emergency situations.
- Float within scope to meet facility needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license (Alaska preferred; license from another state acceptable with application for Alaska license within 72 hours of contract signing).
- Proof of completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate/transcript required if no active CNA license).
- One year of experience in long-term care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- None specified but experience beyond the minimum requirement is beneficial.
Special Considerations:
- Previous travel experience is required.
- On-call is not required.
- The CNA may be asked to float to different units within the facility to meet staffing needs.
- A block schedule is not accommodated.
- The facility will provide a vehicle for the CNAs use during the assignment subject to specific terms and conditions (insurance usage restrictions etc.). The CNA must provide a valid drivers license and proof of insurance.
- Pending license is accepted but the license application must be submitted within 72 hours of signing.
Scheduling:
- 3 twelve-hour shifts per week or 4 twelve-hour shifts per week (travelers choice).
- Shifts will be either day or night depending on facility needs.
- No rotation between day and night shifts is expected (occasional exceptions for urgent staffing needs).
- Guaranteed 84 hours per two weeks; one 12-hour shift may be cancelled per two weeks.
