Job Description

RN - Pediatric Med Surg (Permanent Role)

Location: Temple TX 76502
Shift: 12 HR Nights 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize care for pediatric patients and their families.
  • Develop implement and continuously evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Adjust care plans as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families through empathy professionalism and clear communication.
  • Educate patients families staff and the community to support informed healthcare decisions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members and external partners to coordinate care effectively.
  • Safely delegate tasks and follow up to ensure completion.
  • Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address clinical challenges.
  • Recognize limitations and maintain focus on safety effectiveness and efficiency in care delivery.
  • Contribute to team goals mentor peers and engage in community service as part of professional practice.
Key Success Factors:
  • In-depth knowledge of nursing standards practices and procedures.
  • Understanding of local and state nursing laws and guidelines.
  • Familiarity with hospital policies and operational standards.
  • Clinical understanding of health promotion disease management medications and side effects.
  • Commitment to professional ethics and patient confidentiality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse patients families and team members.
  • Sound judgment and critical thinking for problem-solving.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office EMR systems payroll/scheduling software).
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
  • Current RN license in the state of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Minimum 1 2 years of Pediatric Nursing experience required.
