Location: Leuven Belgium — a vibrant university town and neuroscience hub in the heart of Europe.
Focus: Understanding how cortical interneurons are generated matured and assembled into functional circuits — and how their disruption contributes to neurological and neurodegenerative diseases.
We investigate how diverse classes of inhibitory neurons are specified and integrated into brain circuits during development. Our work bridges developmental neurobiology disease modeling and systems neuroscience. To do this we integrate mouse genetics & in vivo imaging CRISPR gene editing single-cell and spatial transcriptomics high-content imaging & bioinformatics electrophysiology & disease modeling
We are a close-knit international team of scientists from five countries across three continents committed to rigorous science open dialogue and diversity of thought. Our lab values scientific curiosity intellectual independence and collaborative spirit.
We welcome applications from researchers of all backgrounds who thrive in a team-driven environment and are excited to tackle challenging questions using interdisciplinary approaches.
The initial appointment is for 2 years and a possible extension to 3-5 years. Starting date is flexible.
