LDWF supports a strong work ethic in its employees and incorporates the use of good science accurate information and technology. The Office of Wildlife exists to provide wise stewardship of Louisianas wildlife and associated habitats and increase wildlife conservation awareness.


WILDLIFE AND FISHERIES TECHNICIAN A-C/ HABITAT STEWARDSHIP/ RAPIDES

This position is a Wildlife and Fisheries Technician A-C Career Progression Group that receives direct supervision from a Technician Supervisor based in the Pineville field office. Performs daily operations primarily on Alexander State Forest Elbow Slough Esler Field and Sabine Wildlife Management Areas as well as other wildlife management areas or Pineville region projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

No experience or training is required.

JOB DUTIES


POSITION- SPECIFIC DETAILS:

This position will be domiciled in Rapides Parish.


Appointment Type: Job appointment probational appointment promotional or detail to special duty.

If filled as a job appointment there is a possibility that this position may be converted to a probational appointment should funding become available. Current permanent status classified state employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if selected.


This position requires the physical ability to operate boats ATV/UTVs tractors motor-grader and other heavy equipment handle 50 pound sacks of fertilizer work irregular hours weekends holidays and nights and may be subject to 24-hour call.


Career Progression:This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and is advertised as a Wildlife and Fisheries Technician A B or C.
