Job Summary:
An A Level Sheetmetal Mechanic is responsible for the fabrication assembly installation and repair of sheet metal products and equipment. This role requires a high level of skill in reading blueprints measuring cutting bending and forming sheet metal to precise specifications. The mechanic must ensure that all work meets industry standards and safety regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Fabrication and Assembly:
- Read and interpret blueprints sketches or product specifications to determine the sequence and methods of fabricating assembling and installing sheet metal products.
- Measure cut bend and shape sheet metal using hand tools power tools and metalworking machinery.
- Assemble install and repair sheet metal products and equipment such as ducts control boxes drainpipes and furnace casings.
- Ability to operate hand tools power tools and metalworking machinery safely and effectively.
Installation and Repair:
- Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing sheet metal installations.
- Inspect assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers scales and micrometers.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that all fabricated and installed components meet quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct final inspections and make necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure proper fit and function.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Comply with local state and federal regulations and industry standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of work performed including time materials and equipment used.
- Report any issues or discrepancies to the supervisor in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 0 to 3 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum 6 months experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Must be a U.S. citizen
