Product Owner Trading & Sales Data Platform (Contract)
We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to lead the delivery of a data management platform for a major energy and commodity trading organization. This solution is being developed in-house to replace legacy tools used across the Trading & Sales (TnS) IT landscape with a focus on streamlining front-office data workflows.
You will work with development teams IT stakeholders and business users to shape and execute the roadmap ensuring the platform meets the fast-moving needs of traders sales teams and downstream systems.
Project Context
The product replaces legacy Excel- and SharePoint-based tooling used in TnS to manage reference data pricing attributes and front-office configurations. The new platform supports:
Data onboarding and management workflows used by trading desks and analysts
Integration with systems such as ETRM pricing engines trade reporting and risk
Downstream delivery to both operational teams and regulatory reporting streams
The platform is a key enabler for data governance consistency and automation in fast-paced trading environments. The role sits between IT delivery teams and business users in front-office functions.
What Youll Do
Own the product roadmap backlog and delivery plan for the TnS data platform
Gather requirements from trading sales and operations teams; translate them into actionable stories
Coordinate development efforts across multiple tech teams and integration points (e.g. ETRM market data systems)
Ensure platform delivery aligns with front-office workflows and critical business timelines
Communicate regularly with senior IT and business stakeholders driving clarity and alignment
Lead the rollout plan including user onboarding change communication and feedback loops
Requirements
What You Bring
Proven experience as a Product Owner or Delivery Lead in energy trading or commodities
Familiarity with Trading & Sales workflows including trade capture pricing risk and position management
Strong understanding of Agile delivery including backlog management prioritization and stakeholder comms
Excellent communication skills especially in cross-functional high-stakes environments
Proficiency with JIRA Azure DevOps Confluence Mural
Technical fluency with data platforms and integrations (not coding but you should speak the language)
Bonus: experience with ETRM systems market data feeds or compliance data flows
