Position Summary

Join a dynamic team committed to integrity excellence and student-athlete success. Under the leadership of the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance the Compliance Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring adherence to NCAA regulations through proactive monitoring and engaging educational initiatives.

As the primary compliance liaison for several sportscurrently including Womens Volleyball Womens Swimming Baseball Softball Womens Water Polo Mens and Womens Tennisyoull also serve in a secondary role for Football. These assignments may evolve to meet departmental needs. Additionally you will take the lead in managing eligibility compliance in partnership with the certifying officer and student services coordinator while offering guidance to coaches and staff on all matters related to compliance protocols.

Position Information

Department Summary

The Department of Athletics utilizing the services of over 150 employees is responsible for the intercollegiate athletics program at San Diego State University. Currently there are 18 sport programs approximately 550 student-athletes and 17 offices in the department. The offices include the following: The Aztec Club Administration Athletic Medicine Business Office Compliance Corporate Sales Development Equipment Event Management/Facilities and Operations Human Resources Information Technology Marketing Media Relations Strength and Conditioning Student-Athlete Academic Support Services Ticket Office and Video.

Education and Experience

Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles practices and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelors degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study analysis and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies procedures practices or programs.
