Job Description
Minnehaha Academy is a PreK 12 Christian school and a ministry of the Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
Our mission is to provide a high quality education integrating the Christian faith and learning.
Minnehaha Academy has openings for preschool substitutes beginningfor the 2025-2026 school year.
Description
- The hours are 8:00-3:30 (with the possibility of until 4:30pm as needed) with an unpaid 30-minute lunch break
- Wage will be $150.00 per full day pro-rated if work different hours that those above
- There are no benefits available with this position
Purpose
- To provide support to the preschool teachers in implementing the daily learning plans and schedules
- Toassist preschool students in their developmental growth following the direction of the preschool teacher
- To provide supervision of the preschool students in a calm and caring manner during the preschool day
Primary Functions
- Assist in delivery of instruction and support the physical cognitive social and emotional well-being of the children
- Assist in day-to-day classroom operations
- Supervise children throughout the day including lunch recess rest times and after school care (Extended Day Program) for preschool students
Qualifications include:
- High school diploma and either a). 2080 hours as an aide or student intern or b). 12 quarter credits
- Experience in Early Childhood and/or working with preschool children parents and staff
- Passion for working and playing with children
- Timeliness reliability and dependability
- Strong people skills to interact positively with the children parents and staff
- Ability to plan and implement age appropriate activities
- Support and implementing the mission of the school
- Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
- Ability to complete a background check and DHS required training and courses
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
