We are currently seeking an Intake Specialist to be responsible for organizing the admission and intake functions for the Addictions and Recovery Center (ARC). This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm.

Key Responsibilities of an Intake Specialist:

  • Monitor all telephone inquiries letters and email applicants requesting admission.
  • Maintain a file of all pending applications for all facilities.
  • Interview applicants (in office by telephone in jails) and work closely with interdisciplinary team in selection process.
  • Maintain waiting lists when needed for all facilities of approved applicants.
  • Upon bed availability liaise with appropriate client or referring agency on the waiting list and arrange an appropriate date and time for admission.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to assure that the proper personnel will be present for the new clients intake.
  • Obtain accurate medications list diagnosis and history.
  • Communicate scheduling issues with interdisciplinary team.
  • Collect and enter specific tracking data when requested by the Program Manager or Director.
  • Attend trainings to enhance job performance as approved by Director.
  • Perform all other duties as requested by Program Director or Manager.
  • Perform medication pass when certified to do so by Nurse Manager.
  • Attend Community Outreach events and help with promotion and marketing of the program.
  • Travel up to 30%

We are seeking Intake Specialist candidates with the following qualities:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency required
  • 1-3 years behavioral healthcare experience preferred
  • Valid drivers license a driving record meeting Meridians driving policy reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance required
