Description of Work
- We are looking for candidates who have a passion for helping at-risk youth.We areWorking Together to Strengthen North Carolinas Youth and Families!This position is located at Cumberland Juvenile Development Center in Fayetteville NC.
This position will assist the Food Service Supervisor provide support of the facilitys Child Nutrition Program and will ensure compliance with the Departments Federal Child Nutrition Program regulations.Providing nutritionally adequate meals meeting the federal Child Nutrition Program meal patterns.
Maintaining required records reports and inventories in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Requisitioning food and supplies as needed.
Maintaining high standards of personal cleanliness as well as food sanitation.
Interpreting and following standard recipes and prescribed menus as well as specific oral and written instructions.
Checking the cost and quality of items received and insure proper storage.
Complying with policies and procedures of the Department.
Assuming any responsibilities as designated by the Youth Development Center Food Service Supervisor II facility business officer facility director the Child Nutrition Program Administrator and Child Nutrition Program Administrative Officer.Work Schedule:
Work hours for this position are Monday-Sunday.The shifts vary for this position.Candidates must be able to work on-call hours weekends and holidays on a rotating basis and be able to work a variable work schedule to meet the needs of juveniles and their families.Benefits:This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits including paid vacation paid sick leave paid holidays retirement and health insurance. Education and/or experience in food preparation that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade equivalent to one year of experience in a commercial and/or institutional setting.
Necessary Special Qualification:Applicants for positions designated as Juvenile Justice Officers are subject to and must meet the hiring and training standards established by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission as defined in Title 12 Chapter 9 of the NC Administrative Code by the statutory authority of GS 17C.Selected applicant must attend and successfully complete and pass the Juvenile Justice Officer Basic Training certification program. The certification requires four weeks to complete and is comprised of classroom and physically demanding training.
