About the Role:
Global Impact Group LLC (DBA: Global Language System) is seeking experienced Transcribing and Reporting Specialists to support the City of Greensboro Transit Department. This role involves producing accurate verbatim and summary transcripts for public meetings hearings transit operations reports and administrative proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend and document transit-related meetings either onsite or remotely.
- Produce verbatim and/or summary transcripts from digital audio or video files.
- Ensure turnaround time compliance including expedited same-day or next-day delivery when needed.
- Review proofread and format transcripts in line with city standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable data privacy regulations (HIPAA FERPA etc.).
- Work collaboratively with project managers and city staff to meet evolving priorities.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of professional transcription experience.
- Proficiency with transcription software (e.g. Express Scribe InqScribe MS Word).
- Excellent English grammar spelling and formatting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to transcribe multi-speaker recordings with accuracy.
- Legal or public-sector transcription experience is a plus.
- Certification in court reporting or transcription (preferred but not required).
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with public transit terminology or municipal operations.
- Experience working with government or public agency clients.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience and assignment type.
