The skill set to effectively engage incollaborative planning which is aligned to the schools mission and goals andto create a comprehensive school counseling program whichincludes individual and small group counseling.
The skills to work directly with students to supporttheir academic progress and goals which will allow them to successfullymatriculate to the next grade level.
The skills to work directly with students to developtheir college and career related knowledge skills and pathways.
The skills to work directly with students to supporttheir social/emotional development skills and mindsets; this includesproviding crisis intervention during emergencies and grief counseling forstudent and /or staff.
The ability to coordinate school andcommunity resources and provide referrals as needed to support studentsuccess.
The ability to use DATA to monitorstudent progress to monitor the effectiveness of the school counselingprogram and to recommend changes to the comprehensive counseling programpractices and policies to foster student success.
The skills to foster a school environment thatis inclusive of responsive to and safe for its diverselearners.
The ability to serve as a leaderand to advocate on behalf of students.
