DESCRIPTION: Southeastern is seeking a passionate and experienced Cosmetology Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Cosmetology field a commitment to educational excellence and the ability to inspire and engage students.
POSITION SUMMARY:The successful candidate prepare students for the state cosmetology licensing exam and instill the employability and professionalism skills they need to be successful in the workplace.
OUR STUDENTS:Southeastern is a diverse multicultural vocational technical high school which serves over 1700 students. The students balance the rigors of a complete academic course of studies with technical skill training in over 20 career majors. Our students are prepared for college career and/or additional technical training.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Curriculum Development: plan & execute engaging & interactive lessons in Cosmetology that align with Ch 74 frameworks.
- Assess student performance through assignments quizzes & projects and live work and provide constructive feedback on their growth and development.
- Establish and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate with students parents and colleagues
- Collaboration with colleagues for the overall success of the Cosmetology program.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Industry experience with advanced hair color
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to meet deadlines and carry out initiatives as assigned by your supervisor(s).
- Strong technology skills.
- Ability to be flexible with job assignments and performance responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess a Chapter 74 license in Cosmetology from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; or b) have the education experience and licensure necessary to obtain a teaching license.
- High school diploma the equivalent or higher degree
- Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to the field of the license sought.
- Possession of a current Massachusetts Cosmetologist Instructor license
- Passing score on each test (written test performance test) in cosmetology
COMPENSATION:Teachers are school-year employees paid in 21 or 26 equal installments from September - June (or August if 26 pays).
