Job Description Summary

The ideal location for this role is the East Hanover NJ site but a distant working arrangement may be possible in certain states. Distant workers are responsible for the cost of home office expenses and periodic travel/lodging to the East Hanover NJ site as determined necessary by hiring manager. This position will require minimal travel as defined by the business (domestic and or international).

As Associate Director of NPS Field Operations you will be a strategic partner to NPS Field Leadership driving performance through data-driven insights operational excellence and cross-functional collab-oration. This role is critical in shaping NPS field strategy optimizing execution and supporting NPS leadership with actionable intelligence.



Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performance & Insights: Partner with the IDS team to deliver ongoing actionable insights aligned with NPS goals. Conduct deep-dive analyses across therapeutic areas track and report KPIs for field associate performance and awards and identify key drivers of geographic performance. Recommend business solutions and course corrections to enhance outcomes and develop clear reporting mechanisms to communicate field team performance using strong analytical skills.

  • Strategic Analysis & Recommendations: Analyze complex IDS data to uncover trends anticipate business challenges and recommend strategic solutions. Collaborate with a variety of IDS individuals and teams to simplify reporting and enhance insights. Lead KPI and brand initiative analysis providing actionable recommendations to the Director of Ops and NPS therapeutic area VPs Field and HQ Executive Directors and Field Regional Directors to improve performance boost productivity and address key opportunities.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Represent NPS Field perspective in targeting call planning reporting and compliance initiatives. Partner with Brand and Field Leadership to design and track field innovation programs support operational effectiveness of NPS Field Leadership across franchises.

  • Project & Process Management: Lead or co-lead strategic initiatives and business reviews. Design and manage workflows to streamline operations adapt to evolving priorities and ensure timely execution. Use project tracking tools to keep initiatives on schedule. Support tactical execution including training coordination and planning for national meetings.

What youll bring to the role:

Education: Bachelors Degree required; advanced degree preferred (e.g. MHA MBA)

Essential Requirements:

  • 5 years commercial experience and/or leadership experience in healthcare including work in field or sales operations

  • Pharmaceutical Field sales or Field Reimbursement experience

  • Patient Services/Market Access/Hub program design or operational knowledge

  • Strong leadership competencies in project management

Desirable Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems and apply innovative solutions.

  • Proven ability to manage complex projects under tight timelines

  • Flexible and adaptable to evolving business needs with a compliance-first mindset.

  • Experience working cross-functionally and influencing without authority.

  • Excellent business/commercial acumen needed; demonstrates ability to self-start initiate and to deal with ambiguities.

  • Experienced in establishing and cultivating relationships; able to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders and partners across the organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication executive leadership presentation skills and meeting facilitation.

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary:

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $138600.00 and $257400.00 per year; however while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25 fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further final pay determinations will depend on various factors including but not limited to geographical location experience level knowledge skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements including a sign-on bonus restricted stock units and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired employee will be in an at-will position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
