Under general supervision designs or modifies and monitors computer application systems; assists system users with the resolution of computer application problems; performs applications analysis work of existing or new systems including configuration testing maintenance report writing and implementation and performs related duties as required.
The following duties are typical of this classification. Incumbent may not perform all of the duties and/or may be required to perform specific additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
Completion of 18 semester (27 quarter) units from an accredited college or university in systems analysis information technology computer science criminal justice public or business administration or a closely related field; OR
Certification from a recognized trade or technical school in computer technology or closely related field; ANDtwo years of experience in court operations or information technology that would have developed the required knowledge and abilities; OR
Equivalent combination of education training and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge of: basic principles of electronic records management and accounting/budgeting todesign or modify programs; principles of project management; principles of database design and data extraction using SQL queries; Power BI or other data visualization tools case management system; principles and methods used in analysis and development of data processing applications; principles of systems and procedures analysis; uses and limitations of data processing applications; principles of information entry storage and retrieval; current developments in data processing; operating capabilities of common hardware configurations; principles and techniques of computer programming; basic math to develop simple equations in programming applications and to estimate costs of systems; basic principles of electronic data communication; and basic principles of supervision.
Ability to: ability to learn and modify SQL scripts to research and identify appropriate methods of resolving applications and database problems collect and analyze data validate conclusions and make recommendations; modify programs for existing applications; write instructions and procedures; write systems documentation; make requested data accessible to those who need the information to streamline business processes; prepare clear and concise memos and written reports; identify and take corrective actions to solve problems in programs and production systems; communicate on technical issues with individuals with varying degrees of computer familiarity; ability to modify programming languages and programming tools; establish and maintain effective working relationships with users and others contacted in the course of work; read and interpret technical instructions used for such tasks as coding and operating systems; organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines; work within prescribed time constraints.

Physical Requirements:Strength:lift carry push and pull weighing up to 25 pounds; on a continuous basis sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen; occasional standing walking bending stooping. Vision:visual acuity which could be corrected sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the position; Hearing: effectively hear/comprehend oral instructions and communication.
Working Conditions:constantly works indoors with limited exposure to conditions such as dust fumes odors or noise. Constant use of a computer. Works both alone and with others. On occasions drives a motor vehicle.
