Job Summary
The Opportunity: Patient Care Associate Bigelow 9 General Medicine and Bigelow 13 RACU
Why This Role Is Important
The RACU/General Medicine is an eighteen-bed unit crafted for the care of patients requiring focused pulmonary care and the care of patients with general medical diagnoses. Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) the Patient Care Associate (PCA) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe conscientious patient care environment. PCA assists patients with daily living needs monitoring & reading vital signs drawing blood and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner safeguarding patient confidentiality monitoring patient safety and always communicating in a respectful manner. PCAs will float between two units Bigelow 9 General Medicine and Bigelow 13 RACU.
- Qualification - Required: Must have recent experience and/or training in clinical
- patient care. - Preferred: Licensed certified or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant Medical Assistant Mental Health Technician or EMT accredited program at the time of hire OR
- Candidate enrolled in a Nursing Pre-Med PA undergraduate program with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed at time of hire.
Schedule
- Day (7am-3pm / 7am-7pm)
- Evening (3pm-11pm)
- Night (7pm-7am 11pm-7a)
- Rotational holiday and weekend schedule
