Data Strategist Commercial & Corporate Data
We are seeking a visionary and technically skilled Data Strategist / Sr Manager - Commercial & Corporate Functions Data Strategy to lead the design governance and strategic alignment of commercial and corporate data assets. This role will be pivotal in shaping our enterprise data architecture enabling data-driven decision-making and ensuring data integrity across business units such as Sales Marketing Finance Legal and HR. As a People Leader the Sr Manager will be leading a Team of 2 associates.
In this role a typical day will include:
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with business units to understand data needs and translate them into architectural solutions.
- Enable data driven decision-making across Commercial & Corporate Functions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on data capabilities and innovation opportunities.
- Data Strategy & Governance
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business goals.
- Define data standards & policies and support governance frameworks for commercial and corporate data domains.
- Collaborate with data stewards and business leaders to ensure data quality consistency and compliance.
- Business/Systems Analysis & Design
- Capture business requirements and collaborate with Data Architects to design scalable secure and high-performing data architectures (data lakes warehouses marts).
- Set priorities for integration of structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources.
- Technology & Innovation
- Drive adoption of data visualization & analytics solutions and modern architectural paradigms to provide value to the Business.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data management and analytics.
- Data Enablement
- Support self-service analytics and data democratization initiatives.
- Enable advanced analytics AI/ML and business intelligence through robust data foundations.
WHAT YOULL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Data Science Information Systems or related field.
- 7 years of experience in data analysis & visualization data strategy or enterprise data management.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling data integration and data governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g. GDPR SOX HIPAA).
- Excellent communication leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in commercial or corporate data domains (e.g. CRM ERP HRIS financial systems).
- Certifications such as CDMP TOGAF or cloud architecture credentials.
- Knowledge of data cataloging tools (e.g. Atlan Collibra Alation) and lineage tracking.
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (e.g. Azure Synapse AWS Redshift GCP BigQuery).
