The Adjustment Counselor position will involve a caseload of students grades 9-12 and work in collaboration with the Student Support OBJECTIVE:This position is accountable for assuming the responsibility for supporting students social and emotional needs and delivering/supporting high quality instructional experience through creativity resourcefulness and sound judgment consistent with the curriculum frameworks standards and the rules and regulations of the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for delivery of the guidance and adjustment curriculumResponsible for effective management of the assigned caseloadResponsible for ongoing collaboration with fellow Guidance Counselors School Adjustment counselors and Administration to support the diverse needs of learnersResponsible for using innovative approaches and instructional strategies including the effective use of technologies to increase student learning and confidence to learnResponsible for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student achievement regulation and emotional growthResponsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning including for implementing specific strategies for students with special needs with 504 plans andor second language learnersResponsible for providing equal educational and employment opportunities to all individual regardless of race color gender age religion gender identity national origin marital status sexual orientation disability or homelessnessPerformance of other job-related duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: certification in Massachusetts DESE license in School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor 8-12 DegreePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: certification in School Adjustment Counseling and Guidance Counseling2. Experience working with students who are English language learners3. Candidates who are licensed in another state will be considered if they qualify for the temporary license from DESE (must possess the equivalent license from another state and must have documented proof of working under that license for at least three complete school years). Candidates will need to apply for and pay for the DESE license as a condition of TO: Guidance Department Head and School PrincipalSALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District Educators Association contract.
