Leicester Public Schools is seeking an Anticipated teacher of English Language Learners (ELLs) for the school year to provide direct support consultation assessment and other services to students within the public school setting. This individual works collaboratively with staff to ensure that students are provided with the necessary instruction to build their English language :1. District-wide consultation and supports to promote ELL students success in the general education classroom.2. Work with school-based teams when needed to assist students in learning language skills.3. Collaborate with teachers and staff in the development of instructional supports and modifications.4. Teaching English Language Development (ELD) skills to small groups of EL students in pull-out settings or in classrooms.5. Screening and assessment of all students with a second language spoken at home including ACCESS for ELLs and W-APT6. Completing all requirements for state English Learner Education programs: sending out parent notification letters organizing ESL cumulative folders twice a year monitoring exited students (FLEPs) at each grading period completing exiting forms making sure school forms are distributed in native language to all EL students completing ESL report cards etc.7. Developing implementing and consistently monitoring goals and objectives for students in accordance with the English language learner frameworks and keeping parents informed about student progress in their L1 ELD Progress Reports.8. Providing a positive structured learning environment addressing grade and English proficiency appropriate ELD WIDA standards.9. Communicating regularly with parents of students in order to assist in development of language acquisition and academic advancement in the home.10. Facilitate communication and coordination of supports across staff within the school building.11. Responsible for assuring equal educational opportunity to all individuals regardless of race color gender age marital status religion gender identity natural origin sexual orientation homelessness or disability.12. Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
