Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This position is responsible for developing delivering and overseeing the Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) program ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role includes teaching supervising clinical experiences maintaining program accreditation and preparing students for certification and entry-level healthcare employment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)


Provide direct classroom laboratory and clinical instruction aligned with state and national standards for Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) programs.
Oversee program operations to ensure compliance with Washington State Board of Nursing OSPI and CTE guidelines
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student progress certification requirements and clinical competencies.
Coordinate and supervise student clinical placements in approved healthcare facilities.
Collaborate with school administrators local healthcare providers and industry partners to strengthen program quality and student opportunities.
Monitor and ensure adherence to safety and infection control protocols during all program activities.
Provide leadership in maintaining program accreditation and completing required reports and documentation.
Participate in school and district CTE initiatives advisory committees and professional development.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports directly to the Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):

Required:

Holds an active registered nurse (RN) license in good standing in the state of Washington.
Meets the Washington State Department of Health qualifications as a Nursing Assistant Training Program Director
Possesses or is eligible for CTE certification with V511614

Preferred:
Prior experience teaching or training nursing assistants or other healthcare professionals.
Experience supervising students in clinical or laboratory settings.
Allowable Substitutions:
Experience may be substituted depending upon other qualifications.


LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):

Required

Possess or qualify for immediate issuance of a CTE certification with V511614
Holds an active registered nurse (RN) license in good standing in the state of Washington.


KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):


Nursing assistant practice standards and scope as defined by the Washington State Department of Health and federal regulations.
Principles and best practices in nursing care particularly for long-term care and geriatric populations.
Effective teaching learning and assessment strategies including differentiation to meet diverse student needs.
Safety infection control and patient rights in healthcare settings.
Equity cultural competence and strategies to support underrepresented students in health science careers.
Use of technology and simulation in healthcare instruction.

SKILLS (position requirements at entry):

Ability to plan deliver and assess engaging and effective instruction in both classroom and clinical settings.
Strong organizational and program management skills including record-keeping and compliance tracking.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with students families colleagues and industry partners.
Leadership and team-building abilities to guide program staff and students.
Problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address program needs and student challenges.
Ability to adapt to evolving educational and healthcare environments including integration of new technologies.
Cultural responsiveness and ability to foster inclusive supportive learning environments.
Ability to coordinate and supervise students in clinical settings safely and effectively.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class typically require: stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting finger dexterity grasping talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions.

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time.

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts odors chemicals extreme temperatures inadequate lighting workspace restrictions and intense noises.


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:


$72270 to $ 135542annual salary prorated based on FTE (based on the negotiated collective bargaining agreement salary schedule). Certificated staff work the school year contract with placement on the District and BEA bargaining agreement salary schedule. Placement on the schedule is determined by training and experience.

Medical dental vision long-term disability and life-insurance eligibility is based upon .45 FTE. Retirement provided through Washington State Department of Retirement Systems.
