CDL Class A Heavy Haul Driver
Brighton MI (Travel Throughout Michigan)
$30$35/hr Benefits
Are you an experienced CDL Class A Driver with a background in heavy haul transportationJoin a growing construction and infrastructure firm delivering complex projects across Michigan. This role is ideal for a safety-minded detail-oriented driver who thrives in a fast-paced hands-on environment.
What Youll Do
- Operate heavy haul trucks transporting large construction equipment (up to 100000 lbs) across local routes in Michigan
- Load and unload machinery like dozers and excavators using flatbeds and lowboy trailers
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle and load safety
- Secure equipment using chains binders and straps in compliance with DOT and company safety standards
- Coordinate delivery schedules with site supervisors and dispatch
- Maintain accurate logs of trips fuel usage and safety checks
- Assist with tool prep inventory and equipment maintenance as needed
- Home daily: no overnight routes
Must-Have Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license
- 35 years of experience in heavy haul (80000 lbs) not general freight
- Proven experience securing oversized loads using proper safety protocols
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and transport permitting
- Strong communication time management and organizational skills
- Clean MVR and background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification
- Experience with flatbeds and lowboys
- Knowledge of construction equipment and tools
