GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify gaps develop action plans and implement corrective actions to optimize the sites environmental systems and environmental program. Liaise with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in internal HSE audits
Manage PPE (glasses and shoes)
Schedule hazardous waste collections (send lists and accompany the supplier)
Calibrate gas detectors
Purchase safety equipment (researching gear)
Participate in HSE committees
Deliver basic HSE training to new employees and occasionally other training sessions
Participate in accident and incident investigations and analyses
Follow up on corrective actions identified during inspections HSE meetings or other opportunities
Conduct noise sampling
Collaborate with various departments on certain modifications (e.g. ergonomics)
Participate in the development and execution of emergency evacuation drills
Update KPI stats and charts
Provide HSE support to plant employees
Participate in the first response team
Ensure the safety data sheets (SDS) are up to date and manage WHMIS documentation
Enter data into the Cority EHS management software
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment
Contribute to the development and updating of work procedures
Perform any other related duties

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Knowledge/Qualifications:
A college diploma in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office excellent written and verbal communication skills and a basic understanding of applicable federal and provincial laws
Fluency in spoken written and reading French required. English an asset
Motivation positive attitude attention to detail and team spirit
Practical knowledge of relevant pharmaceutical industry regulations is an asset
Previous experience in managing hazardous materials and/or environmental programs
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
