You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailPreble Streets Veteran Housing Services (VHS) team provides services and supports to veterans throughout Maine toward overcoming barriers to finding and maintaining housing. With funding from the U.S. Dept. of Veteran Affairs Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) the VHS program offers case management; employment benefit and resource referrals; intensive housing counseling; and direct financial assistance for housing to veterans who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
The Rapid Resolution Specialist is a member of the VHS casework team working across Maine to offer support to Veterans and their families in finding and maintaining housing. The RRS outreaches and works directly with Veteran clients providing client-centered case management housing-related services and referrals and fosters partnerships in the community to ensure veterans have access to housing and resources. Guided by Preble Streets mission to provide low-barrier services to people experiencing homelessness the work of the VHS team toward ending veteran homelessness is informed by Housing First harm-reduction and trauma-informed service approaches.
The Rapid Resolution Specialist will be based in the Lewiston office and will have a Monday-Friday 8 am 4:30 pm schedule.
Qualifications for the position include a combination of work experience education and/or training likely to provide the skills knowledge and ability to perform the work of the Caseworker role.
Additional qualifications include an understanding of and alignment with Preble Streets mission positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty commitment to providing low-barrier high-quality services to people experiencing homelessness and strong organizational and computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Veteran status is not required for this position.
Regional travel is required with mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use for work-related travel.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly rate of pay for this full-time (40 hours/week) position is $23.12 per hour.
