TheData Entry Specialistplays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy integrity and confidentiality of data used for strategic decision-making at the university. This position is responsible for entering verifying and maintaining large volumes of data across multiple university systems supporting student records financial aid HR compliance reporting and institutional planning. The specialist ensures timely data management in alignment with university policies and regulatory requirements and contributes to data governance and workflow efficiency initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Review source documents for completeness and accuracy verifying discrepancies and resolving data inconsistencies.
- Maintain retrieve and archive digital and physical records in compliance with FERPA HIPAA and internal data retention policies.
- Support audits accreditation reviews and compliance reporting by compiling data from multiple sources.
- Collaborate with departments to streamline data entry processes improve workflows and reduce duplication or manual entry errors.
- Assist with data cleaning and validation activities for institutional dashboards and reports.
- Respond promptly to internal data requests and ensure sensitive data is handled with discretion and security protocols.
- Utilize data entry tools and software efficiently; recommend process improvements and digital solutions when applicable.
- Generate routine and ad hoc reports to support administrative and academic planning efforts.
- Uphold university standards for confidentiality data protection and professional conduct in all tasks.
Education
- Associate degree in Business Administration Information Systems or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional data entry or data management experience preferably in higher education or a large organization.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
