The Melbourne Veterinary School is pleased to offer a residency training program in Veterinary Pathology.
This three-year full-time program supports a resident to fulfil the credentialing requirements for specialisation in Veterinary Pathology through Board examination by the American College of Veterinary Pathology ( residency is supported by board-certified specialists at the University of Melbourne along with additional clinical staff.
We are also offering residency training programs in Oncology and Anaesthesia & Analgesia.Please check our other listings to learn more about these exciting opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Clinical and Professional Development: Undertake supervised clinical activities to meet ACVP specialisation requirements and participate in School planning and committees.
Education and Mentorship: Contribute to teaching and supervising Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students in your areas of expertise.
Research and Publication: Conduct research present at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals with increasing autonomy.
Collaboration and Leadership: Work cooperatively in a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to a positive work environment.
You may be a great fit if:
You must be a qualified veterinarian and eligible for veterinary registration in Victoria Australia. Candidates should also have relevant experience in the discipline such as completion of an internship program membership-level qualifications or equivalent.
You are required to:
Have a veterinary degree enabling registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board of Victoria (). Registration must be completed prior to commencement of the position.
Have completed an internship or have equivalent practice experience.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English.
Demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines effectively.
It is desired that you:
Have relevant clinical or professional experience relevant to the discipline such as completion of an anaesthesia internship membership level qualifications or an equivalent level of experience that will meet the minimum criteria for the college ( experience in supervising or training veterinary students in clinical or research activities.
Show a track record of academic outputs such as peer-reviewed publications or conference presentations.
