  1. Onsite requirements are typically onsite daily.
  2. Hybrid fixed have some ability to work remotely and be onsite fixed days each week.

Competencies

Job Summary

The Supervisor will oversee the accounting functions of PSEG. The Supervisor will be responsible for applying their professional knowledge and skills in all aspects of Cash accounting Payroll Accounts payable and Intercompany addition he or she will be responsible for supervising a variety of daily and monthly financial accounting duties including but not limited to the review/approve of journal entries variance analysis account reconciliations financial reporting and escheatment reporting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of four employee and contractors;
  • Provide accounting guidance and support to the business teams supporting accounts receivable/accounts payable payroll intercompany and all cash activities;
  • Provide training and guidance conducting performance reviews and supervising workload for the team;
  • Review journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations;
  • Conduct related general ledger analysis and maintenance;
  • Prepare financial statement variance analysis reporting and commentary;
  • Support of internal and external audit while managing the communication and resolution of issues;
  • Maintenance of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control narratives performance of SOX controls etc.;
  • Support for SEC reporting process with preparation and review of sections of SEC reports (e.g. 10-Q 10-K and 11-K); address ad-hoc requests upon request.
  • Provide support for regulatory filings as well as other ad hoc reports and analyses for internal and external clients.
  • Document/support new transactions and communicate such transactions to management.
  • Lead implementation of accounting systems processes procedures and process improvement.

Job Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 7 years work experience in public/private accounting
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) including but not limited to: accounting for cash payroll and fringe benefits intercompany accounts receivable/accounts payable etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of effective internal controls.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under time constraints.

For employees in federally regulated roles (including positions covered by USDOT PHMSA or NRC regulations) this also includes random testing. Although numerous states throughout the country have legalized marijuana/cannabis products recreationally and medically it is prohibited for employees in federally regulated roles.
