Job Description

Our company is looking for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to help treat children aged 0-21. Come work for a caring compassionate team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design treatment plans that are motivating developmentally appropriate and have measurable outcomes.
  • Assess the daily/weekly change of your clients and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Sensitively consider the client and familys racial cultural and socio-economic background when evaluating and developing appropriate treatment plans with understanding of how a childs life experiences may be impacted by social determinants
  • Partner with families to develop plans for maximum carry-over with consideration of the familys daily routines dynamics resources and ability to extend services into their home
  • Actively and collaboratively co-treat with a team of cross-disciplinary clinicians.

Skills:

  • Have a strong relationship builder who can easily gain rapport with children and families alike. You take the time to learn about your client and their familys experiences outside of the clinic to develop treatment plans that are both practical and effective
  • Knowledgeable of a wide range of functional adaptive equipment techniques and strategies and how they are appropriately implemented with age group.
  • Current with evidence based practices.
  • Have time management skills while also being flexible to adjust to changes in daily scheduling and completing documentation and billing requests on time.
  • Advocate for your caseload and families.
  • Have experience working with or caring for an individual with special healthcare needs
  • Understanding of the experiences that families encounter when seeking and participating in therapeutic treatment for their children
  • Have respect and understanding for diverse racial ethnic cultural linguistic socioeconomic backgrounds abilities and family structures and are understanding of how social determinants may impact individuals experiences

Requirements:

  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of Massachusetts.
  • Must pass a CORI
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds
  • Must love children and playing!
