What are we looking for
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelors degree in a computer science related field or other IT related field; AND
- Five years related to compute and storage experience; AND
- Two years experience managing IT professionals in a project-driven environment; OR
- Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Competencies:
Knowledge of or ability to learn:
- Virtualization technologies preferably VMware products;
- Enterprise storage architectures and associated technologies including multi-site replication and storage access protocols.
- Datacenter networking technologies related to server and storage hosting both on-prem and in various cloud provided platforms
- Enterprise disaster recovery and business continuity theories and technologies.
- Mid-Tier server environment (Windows and/or Linux)
- Server Monitoring solutions
- Workload mobility theories and technologies
- Hybrid/private cloud theories and technologies including self-service portals and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
- Domain Name Services
- Load Balancing Services
Ability to
- Manage a designated budget;
- Manage IT professionals in a project-driven environment.
- Manage tasks and assignments using project management methods.
- Turn strategic directions and goals into tactical plans for a business area.
- Build consensus among a group of stakeholders and IT professionals
- Manage a budget driven by billed services;
- Develop and manage budgeting for large projects and expenditures
- Communicate technical information with both technical and non-technical people at all levels in state government;

What is this career opportunity
The Enterprise Infrastructure Supervisor oversees a team of engineers in designing architecting and managing the States Enterprise compute and storage infrastructure. These services fulfill many of the States computer and storage needs and are essential to the States digital services consumed by our citizens. The successful candidate will be directly involved in all facets that ensure the States private cloud is affordable modern secure and highly addition this position leads and manages the States enterprise infrastructure team to conduct and assist in proof-of-concept testing as well as conduct engineering planning and design sessions with the States various vendor partners. This position also assists with various security audits and risk assessments as well as assists with disaster recovery planning. This job requires excellent technical and organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
