About the Unit
The Sign Shop is an in-house sign manufacturing unit which provides high quality traffic signs to all Department of Transportation field operations in compliance with both state and national standards and to provide the public with safe and informative traveling routes. The work unit serves internal Maintenance Sections Public Relation and Traffic units with new traffic signs. The unit processes raw material stock and retro-reflective material into highway traffic signs. The unit processes orders manufactures and prepares orders for pick-up.
About the Position
The Sign Fabricator position follows established guidelines processes and procedures to fabricate quality signs as requested by the various maintenance/Engineering sections. This will include standard road signs as well as to fabricate signs for emergencies and special situations or projects. These positions will learn how to properly operate and maintain shop equipment and tools as well as train on how to layout and adhere sheeting/decals.

The Hiring Process:
