Job Description

Network Engineer Onsite (Colorado Springs CO)

An organization is seeking a Network Engineer to support the Command Control Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. This is an onsite role in Colorado Springs CO and involves travel to other work sites such as Schriever Space Force Base Alaska Guam and Europe to perform deployments and other job duties.

The C2BMC program integrates the Missile Defense System and is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president secretary of defense and combatant commanders to plan ballistic missile defense operations. It provides a collective operational picture and allows dynamic management of networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. The program also plays a crucial role in system ground and flight tests verifying and exercising current and future missile defense system capabilities.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:

  • Plan deploy integrate and test upgrades to the C2BMC network at operational sites.

  • Travel to remote locations to install networks troubleshoot issues and provide status updates to program personnel.

  • Work effectively in a collaborative and agile environment.

WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:

  • Current/active in-scope DoD issued SECRET security clearance.

  • 5 years of related experience with a Bachelors Degree in STEM
    OR 3 years with a Masters degree
    OR 1 year with a PhD
    OR 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.

  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g. Security CE CASP CE GSEC SSCP CND GICSP).

  • Knowledge of network design development and testing methodologies.

  • Understanding of the OSI Model TCP/IP and routing protocols BGP and OSPF.

  • Skills in network traffic analysis diagnostics and troubleshooting.

  • Firewall expertise with Juniper Fortinet and Palo Alto.

  • Familiarity with:

    • UDP multicast

    • SONET

    • MSPP

    • VLANs

    • GRE Tunnels

    • TCP/IP network designs

  • Understanding of multi-vendor switching and routing (Juniper Cisco) WAN optimizers TACLANEs and optical transport equipment.

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:

  • Current and active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret clearance.
