Job Opportunity: Safety Auditor Level I

Reports To:Director of Safety

Position Overview

The Safety Auditor is responsible for conducting quality audits of 7 AIR departments and contractors to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal safety requirements. Audits must be performed in a manner that does not interfere with normal departmental operations. Safety Auditors are expected to conduct themselves professionally applying CFRs and 7 AIR internal procedures fairly and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

The Safety Auditor will play a crucial role in evaluating and ensuring compliance with safety regulations policies and procedures specific to the cargo airline industry:

  • Conduct safety audits focused on cargo airline operations to ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations.
  • Evaluate safety measures related to cargo handling and transportation.
  • Review and assess safety-related documentation specific to cargo airline procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and complete record-keeping in accordance with aviation safety standards.
  • Conduct on site observations to access implementation of safety protocols.
  • Interview personnel to gather insights into safety practices and identify gaps.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of safety training programs tailored for cargo airline staff.
  • Promote awareness of safety procedures and guidelines among cargo airline personnel.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports outlining findings recommendations and required corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with departments to address audit findings and support implementation of corrective measures.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety processes.
  • Work collaboratively with teams to implement enhancements and adopt best practices.
  • Plan and organize audits including the development of audit checklists and supporting materials.

QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelors degree in aviation management Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of auditing experience preferably in the Aviation industry.
  • Relevant certifications in safety auditing or internal auditing. (e.g. ISO OSHA AS9100 etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations specific to cargo airline operations.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations ICAO standards and industry best practices.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of cargo airline procedures and safety protocols.
  • Excellent analytical observational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Proficiency in using auditing tools software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
