This is a highly collaborative and dynamic role perfect for someone whos passionate about safe patient care teamwork and driving continuous improvement across the Childrens Center and beyond throughout the organization. The Patient Safety Specialist (PSS) for the Johns Hopkins Childrens Center is a core member of the Johns Hopkins Hospital Patient Safety Office and is specifically embedded in the pediatric hospital. This role works closely with pediatric quality leadership Quality Improvement and leaders and staff from across all pediatric care areas-- from inpatient units and ambulatory clinics to the pediatric OR PACU and ancillary services. The PSS acts as a connector between frontline staff local and senior leaders and support teams helping to build and sustain a strong culture of safety. On any given day the PSS can be reviewing patient safety event reports supporting local safety efforts The facilitating debriefs after critical events or helping teams coordinate safety improvement projects that impact multiple areas of care.

Salary Range: Minimum 46.57/hour - Maximum 72.18/ will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
