Head of Scripted Marketing

Reports to Group Director of Global Marketing

FTC (Maternity Cover) Based at Stephen Street London (hybrid)

Fremantles Group Marketing function is responsible for supporting the marketing communications strategy of the company across programming sales and corporate reputation.

About the role

The Head of Scripted Marketing sits within Fremantles Group Marketing function and manages the launch and promotional marketing of scripted programmes and formats either created by Fremantle and its production labels or distributed on behalf of third parties.

The role works with Fremantles Global Drama and Commercial & International teams to identify priority titles and formats and with production and distribution territories to provide marketing campaigns in support of sales and launches.

Within the Group Marketing function the role works closely with the Head of Non-Scripted Marketing and the HeadofGlobalDramaandScriptedCommunications to promote Fremantles titles in a consistent and high-quality way. The role also works directly with Group Marketings Trade Marketing Events and Creative teams as well as a range of external agency partners.

The role is responsible for managing the scripted marketing team setting team strategy ensuring project delivery and quality is maintained and that the teams development needs are met.

Key activities and responsibilities

  • Setting and executing overall strategy for the approach to marketing Fremantles scripted priority programming across genres (drama comedy) and business areas (formats distribution).
  • Line-managing the scripted marketing team including day-to-day needs and development and monitoring consistency and quality of their work.
  • Campaign planning for new titles launches across formats and distribution including positioning budgeting rollout timing creative development media planning and campaign and title performance measurement.
  • Identifying commercial opportunities around Fremantles titles and proposing appropriate ways to activate opportunities in support of sales.
  • Liaising with the Global Drama and Commercial and International teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality flow of information.
  • Liaising with Fremantles production territory offices and distribution offices to ensure a consistent and high-quality flow of information.
  • Liaising with the Group Marketing Trade Marketing team to ensure campaign activity aligns with commercial priorities.
  • Working with external creative suppliers to agree briefs budgets and deliveries on commissioned projects including maintaining relationships with a range of suppliers to ensure resource availability and competitive pricing.
  • Collaborating with other heads-of-teams within Group Marketing to deliver consultancy and service across projects corporate activity events sales and post-sales support.
  • Ensuring team processes are up-to-date and maintained and align with similar processes within the non-scripted marketing team.

Key competencies

  • Evidenced experience of developing marketing strategy and executing campaigns for TV content on a global scale for both new launches and in support of ongoing franchises.
  • Understanding of the differences between marketing formats and marketing finished programmes and series.
  • Awareness of cultural geographic and platform-driven TV market and marketing differences.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage colleagues with different levels of experience and responsibility.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills for direct team colleagues wider business contacts and external partners at different levels of seniority.
  • Ability to work across multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Project management and budget management skills.
  • Awareness of content industry trends including competitors and peers.
  • Awareness of marketing trends and inspiration from relevant sources.
  • Proficient in Office software and tools.
  • Awareness of or experience in using AI tools and solutions to enhance output and streamline processes.
