JOB BAND: C

LOCATION: Salford - Hybrid

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 32500 - 40000 depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

This role is advertised as part of ourBBC Extend programme for disabled people. The Late Show is broadcast across England and the Channel Islands from Media City in Salford 5 nights a week. The show features great late night conversation and companionship. Our guests are often ordinary people with extraordinary stories that makes the show an appointment to listen. As well as the live radio audience we have a large and growing audience who listen back to the show on BBC Sounds. We need a creative ambitious and listener-focussed Content Producer to build on the shows success and help shape its future. Youll have the drive and production flair to develop and deliver brilliant radio content.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITES AND IMPACT

You will be able to identify research and book the very best guests for the show. Working as part of team and following a production brief.
Youll love output producing live radio if you get a kick from being behind the glass or producing from the Ops area.
Youll be responsible for audio editing and will take great pride in delivering amazing audio for the show.
Youll be creative and full of ideas both for the output but also with solutions to make the production work the very best it can.
Youll enjoy being part of a small team but also be able to thrive when working independently.
Youll work in a shift pattern that rotates fortnightly between day planning shifts and late live outputting.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE KEY CRITERIA

The right candidate will be experienced working as a radio producer in a live broadcast environment.
You will have worked with multiple stakeholders including presenters.
Resilience and the ability to be at your best working shifts will be core to this role and expected of the successful candidate.
Youll bring great editorial judgement and fully understand the law in relation to broadcast.
Youll be creative and resourceful with guest and feature ideas and bigger campaigns that can deliver impact.
Youll have a knowledge of and interest in our target audience. This group is Traditional Values in the BBC Audience Maps. We must be ruthless about delivering content that will appeal to them.
Youll have a confident approach and be able to build rapport with ease with the presenters Becky Want (Monday - Thursday) and Asma Younus (Sundays).

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

Experience of delivering digital content which enhances the radio offering.
Experience in working in partnership with other parts of the BBC.
