Were looking for a hands-on Lead API Developer to take the reins on designing building and optimising high-performance API systems. Youll lead by examplebalancing hands-on coding across a modern stack ( Java JavaScript Go) with technical leadership and delivery oversight across multiple squads.
What youll do
In this role youll guide architectural decisions introduce new technologies and ensure our API platforms are scalable secure and fit for the future. Youll also play a key role connecting solution design and architecture while mentoring developers and collaborating closely across cross-functional teams.
What youll bring
Technical & People Leadership You lead by example combining deep backend expertise ( Java JavaScript Go) with the ability to mentor developers uplift teams and drive delivery across complex fast-paced environments.
Modern API Development You have hands-on experience building and scaling RESTful and GraphQL APIs microservices architectures and backend systems that are secure high-performing and reliable.
Architecture & Strategy You contribute to architectural decisions and shape technical roadmaps with a strong grasp of API versioning design patterns scalability and best practices in a cloud-native environment (AWS GCP or Azure).
Security & Performance You understand and implement modern security standards (OAuth2 JWT) lead performance tuning and drive continuous improvement of the API layer for robustness and efficiency.
DevOps & Engineering Excellence You champion CI/CD TDD code quality and infrastructure automation using tools like Docker Kubernetes and Git while ensuring best practices in testing and deployment.
Collaboration & Communication Youre a natural communicator and trusted partnerworking cross-functionally with product design and engineering teams to shape solutions that meet real business needs.
