Alfred Pathology - Collection Supervisor
The Department
Alfred Health and Monash Health have established a formal partnership to deliver a Shared Pathology Service as one of three new pathology networks for metropolitan Melbourne.
All roles in the Pathology Programs are working to develop the Partnership across the Health Services to ensure we continue to provide high quality care for the patients across the health services.

We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based Pathology Service (APS) provides a comprehensive range of pathology testing consultation services and collection services to clinicians and patients of Alfred Health. The Service has 5 units (Anatomical Pathology Clinical Biochemistry Haematology Microbiology and Human Molecular Pathology) each headed by a Unit Head. APS has the core laboratory at The Alfred as well as a small local laboratory at Sandringham Hospital.
Position Summary
An exciting opportunity for the position of Pathology Collection Supervisor for Alfred Pathology has become available. The position is responsible for providing an integrated timely and customer-focused specimen collection service for Alfred Pathology Service. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality inpatient and outpatient Pathology collection services and to ensure the efficient and effective running of that service. The position is responsible for managing a teams across multiple locations ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and policies and accreditation requirements. This is a hands-on position; the successful candidate will be required to participate in specimen collection in both inpatient and outpatient settings as well as training of staff. Experience in staff recruitment rostering and payroll is essential.
You will work closely with the Director of Laboratory Operations and senior staff within the laboratory and across the organisation to ensure procedures and processes are up to date timely and add to the quality of care of our patients.
