Position Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with 25 years of accounting experience to join our growing finance team. This role is ideal for a rising accounting professional ready to take ownership of key financial processes and contribute to strategic initiatives. You will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting maintaining compliance with accounting standards and supporting cross-functional teams with insights that inform business decisions.
The ideal candidate is analytical hands-on and excited to work in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and continuous improvement are valued.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Financial:
- Assist in month-end close process including journal entries accruals and account reconciliations.
- Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies.
- Help prepare and analyze financial statements internal reports and supporting schedules.
- Assist in developing and refining monthly reporting packages for leadership and stakeholders.
- Support external audits including gathering documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Contribute to systems enhancements and automation initiatives within the finance function.
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts by providing historical data and trend analysis.
Tax:
- Oversight of monthly sales tax submissions for Alabama Florida and Mississippi
- Timely submission of quarterly tax reports for Alabama Florida Georgia and Mississippi
- Compliance with Federal tax reporting deadlines
- Complete periodic training for sales tax
- Annual reconciliation of 1099 forms
Treasury:
- Complete daily recording of bank transfers and debit memos
- Manage daily deposits of incoming wires credit card payments and checks
- Approval of payroll payments and wire transfers
- Perform month-end adjusting entries for bank reconciliation

The following qualifications along with individuals previous work experience will be considered by the company when evaluating applicants:
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- 2 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. Microsoft GP Sage Intacct or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills (vlookups pivot tables etc.).
- Strong attention to detail organization and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA designation.
- Experience in industries such as commercial HVAC construction manufacturing or field services.
- Familiarity with project-based accounting or job costing is a plus.
- Exposure to ERP systems and process automation tools.
