To provide students with a high-quality education in science using research-based instructional strategies that align with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). The science teacher will create a positive and engaging classroom environment that supports student success in science content areas such as Biology Chemistry Physics and/or Environmental Systems depending on certification and campus needs.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university (required)
Valid Texas teaching certificate in Science 712 Life Science 712 Physical Science 612 or applicable subject area (required)
Demonstrated competency in science content and instructional strategies
Strong classroom management communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in secondary classroom teaching (preferred)
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of district curriculum and TEKS
Use a variety of instructional techniques and technology to meet the needs of diverse learners
Provide hands-on laboratory experiences that support inquiry-based learning
Prepare set up and safely manage science lab materials and equipment
Assess student progress through a variety of formal and informal assessments
Provide timely feedback and maintain accurate grading records
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical social and emotional development of students
Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and campus policies
Establish and maintain effective communication with parents and guardians
Collaborate with fellow teachers instructional coaches and administration to improve student achievement
Participate in department meetings professional development and campus events
Maintain professional relationships with colleagues students and parents
Uphold ethical and professional standards as defined by the Texas Education Agency and district policies
