Work hard have fun and make history with Amazons legal team. We are looking for a smart and motivated individual to join our Global Trade Legal team as a Corporate Counsel focused on sanctions compliance for our Stores Operations Devices and Payments businesses.
This role will be at the forefront of complex and high-stakes global sanctions issues. You will have the opportunity to advise on the design and implementation of advanced sanctions compliance systems and tools and to provide sanctions advice on diverse business initiatives and products. You will also have the opportunity to shape policies and programs in response to complex and constantly evolving sanctions developments for a leading e-commerce technology and logistics company. Responsibilities include performing legal research providing legal and risk analysis drafting guidance documents and regulatory submissions managing internal data collection/review projects developing and implementing processes to simplify or automate recurring tasks and coordinating with compliance professionals and other legal partners.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently and independently demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations think creatively and be proactive in solving problems and collaborate well with people at all levels inside and outside the company. This role will give the successful candidate an opportunity to join a collegial team of trade attorneys to address complex and high-stakes global trade issues affecting current and future business models and technologies at Amazon.
This position may be based in Arlington VA or Seattle WA.
- 5 years of legal experience - Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
