Job Description
We are currently seeking a Structural Designer with experience designing structural support steel for conveyors racking systems and/or mezzanine floors to join our clients team in the Troy MI area. While local candidates are preferred relocation assistance may be offered for exceptionally qualified individuals.
Position: Structural Designer
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: Based on experience and education anticipated between $100000$120000
Ideal candidates will have most (if not all) of the following qualifications:
- Associate degree in Design and Drafting is strongly preferred; equivalent experience or a related degree will be considered
- Hands-on experience in the design of structural support steel for conveyors racking systems and/or mezzanines
- Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD for structural steel layouts
- Strong background in creating detailed fabrication drawings for bolted and welded connections
- Familiarity with material take-off calculations stick drawings general loading and basic beam calculations is strongly preferred
- Ability to successfully complete pre-hire requirements including background check references education verification and drug screening
