ROLE SUMMARY
The Endocrine team comprises 2 products Ngenla and Genotropin. Ngenla is a once-weekly pediatric growth hormone deficiency (pGHD) therapy that launched in June 2023 and is poised to become the anchor product of the franchise. Genotropin was the first product approved to treat pGHD in 1987. Approximately 1 in 4000 US children are affected by pGHD and can result in physical emotional and social burden for the patients and their families. Current therapies (including Genotropin) require patients to commit to daily injections leaving patients tethered to a strict injection schedule which can impact quality of life and lead to suboptimal adherence which affects their growth trajectory. Ngenla is among a new class of pGHD therapies that can offer patients similar growth to daily therapy but with only 1 injection a week.
