Facilities Hospitality Specialist
At Caldera we believe in the power of creativity. Our mission is to inspire and support youth from underserved rural and urban communities by awakening the potential of their creative voice. We do this through a unique fusion of art environment and mentorship. Our Youth Program provides students from Portland and Central Oregon with long-term relationships with caring adults which nurtures individual creativity beginning in sixth grade and continuing into young adulthood.
Caldera has a $4.9M budget a 19-member board 21 full-time year-round employees and a range of seasonally contracted artists and staff. Its administrative office is located in Portland Oregon and its Arts Center is located outside of Sisters in Central Oregon.
Position Title: Facilities Hospitality Specialist
Supervisor: Guest Experience Manager
Full-time: (37.5 hours/week) Typical Schedule 10AM-6PM Wed-Sunday but dynamic with group calendar. On-call overnight emergency contact on Thursday Friday and Saturday or as scheduled.
Work Location: Caldera Arts Center 31500 Blue Lake Dr Sisters OR 97759. We prefer that the person in this position live on-site in Caldera-provided housing though this is not a requirement. Onsite overnight is a requirement while guests are on site (Approximately 50-60% of the year).
Compensation & Status: $54765-$66935 exempt. Benefits include: open PTO health dental and vision insurance (95% employer paid for employee 15% employer paid for dependents) 403(b) retirement matching flexible spending account (with employer contribution) long-term disability short-term disability life insurance paid parental leave.
Optional on-site housing: 2BR/1BA cottage large garage utilities included would be taxable
Position Description
This is a hands-on service-oriented role that plays a critical part in maintaining Calderas unique campus near Sisters Oregon. The Facilities Hospitality Specialist ensures that guest spaces are clean comfortable and functional supporting everything from artist residencies to youth programs and private paid experiences. This position involves physical workincluding room resets light maintenance cleaning stocking and setup for eventsas well as some administrative tasks like vendor coordination guest communication and logistical planning. It requires comfort with both manual labor and systems organization. The role is based at our scenic Blue Lake campus and includes on-call overnight responsibilities when guests are present. Occasional travel to the Portland office and collaboration with staff across the state may be required. On-site accommodations are available during the workweek and for scheduled on-call nights.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem-solver who thrives in dynamic physically active environments. They should be comfortable lifting cleaning moving furniture and managing the day-to-day needs of a bustling arts and retreat campus. Just as important theyll bring a strong sense of hospitality clear communication and the ability to connect with a wide range of peopleyouth artists vendors and Experiences guests alike. Success in this role requires flexibility initiative and the ability to manage competing priorities with a calm service-minded approach. Experience working in retreat centers camps or hospitality settings is essential especially in rural or off-grid environments. While administrative skills like scheduling inventory tracking and digital communication are part of the job this is first and foremost an in-person guest-facing position.
