Job Description

Description / Position Overview

License Specialist II
In this position you will play a vital role in streamlining the citys business licensing process handling everything from application processing to financial transactions. Your responsibilities will include preparing crucial reports managing comprehensive license files and facilitating general business licensing activities. Youll engage with various stakeholders run background checks and ensure compliance with City Code all while serving as a key liaison for the City Clerks Office.

Job Type:Full-Time; Non-Exempt
Work Schedule:Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm in-office presence is required.
Hourly Salary:$23.74 - $28.50 Hourly

As a License Specialist II you will:
  • Processgeneralbusinesslicensepaperworkandpayments
  • Preparevariouslicensingreportsmemorandaandcorrespondenceforthe CityClerksOffice
  • Maintainelectronicandpaperbusinesslicensefiles with associated compliance tracking and follow-up
  • Assist with general business licensing activities for the City Clerks Office including the collection of required insurance forms bonds and other required documents
  • Runapplicantbackgroundinvestigationcheckandpreparefilesforbackgroundreview
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders including the public on general business licensing
  • Serveas aliaisonwithotherCitydepartmentsdivisionsandoutsideagencies representingtheCityClerk
  • Correspondregularlywithgeneral business licenseestoensurecompliancewith the CityCode
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned to ensure the smooth running of the department including periodic municipal election-related assignments

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
  • Knowledge of business letter writing basic report preparation and cash-handling procedures
  • Knowledge of proper English usage spelling punctuation and grammar
  • Ability to interpret explain and apply pertinent city state and local laws codes and regulations
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Ability to flexibly process shifting priorities in a fast-paced detailed and customer-oriented setting
