Accounts Technician Rugeley Permanent Office Based Salary 08:30-17:00
Are you a technically strong accounting professional looking for your next challenge Seymour John are exclusively partnering with a well-established and growing business in Rugeley who are actively searching for an Accounts Technician to join their busy finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key role within a collaborative and well-structured finance function where your input will be valued and your work will directly contribute to business performance.
About the role
Reporting to the Accounts Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a range of accounting tasks such as invoice processing reconciliations VAT returns prepayments accruals and profit and loss analysis while supporting month-end and year-end close activities.
- Performing cash allocations and bank reconciliations ensuring the accuracy of all financial records.
- Processing bi-weekly payroll including commissions and adjustments; managing pension contributions and submitting statutory reports.
- Using Sage 50 Excel Outlook and Word to maintain financial documents databases and supplier records.
- Handling general administrative tasks including photocopying archiving and document preparation; ensuring filing systems remain organised and compliant.
- Communicating with internal teams and external partners to resolve queries and maintain smooth daily operations.
Personal Profile
Were looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accounts Technician to join our clients growing finance team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills a proactive mindset and a collaborative spirit to support the financial operations during an exciting phase of expansion.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Hold (or be working towards) an AAT Level 4 qualification.
- Demonstrate strong experience in day-to-day accounting tasks such as processing invoices bank reconciliations VAT returns payroll and monthly accounts preparation.
- Be proficient in accounting software (particularly Sage 50) and Microsoft Office tools including Excel Word and Outlook.
- Possess a positive can-do attitude and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Be solutions-focused with a keen eye for accuracy and process improvement.
- Thrive in a team-oriented culture while also working independently to meet deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and external contacts to resolve issues and maintain smooth operations.
